- ➤ Fire crews responded to a blaze in the 3700 block of Southway Drive — near Tanglewood Mall in south Roanoke — and contained the fire, officials said. WSLS 10
- ➤ On Saturday morning, an apartment fire on the 3700 block of Southway Drive SW left two people hospitalized and displaced about 18 residents—firefighters worked for an hour and a half to extinguish heavy flames and saved two cats while one was lost. ABC 13

- ➤ Today, the 34th Annual Local Colors Festival in downtown Roanoke featured live acts on the main stage at Elmwood Park and booths that showed food, music, and traditions from over 60 countries—City Arts and Culture Coordinator Douglas Jackson said the event shows how the city welcomes everyone.
