- ➤ On Sunday, first responders from Smith Mountain Lake Marine Volunteer Fire Rescue rescued two kayakers and their dog from strong winds near Webster Marina—safely loading them onto a fireboat back to shore. ABC 13
- ➤ A Pulaski couple lost their home to a devastating fire on Caseknife Road Friday evening—firefighters worked nearly six hours to contain the blaze as some pets did not survive and the cause remains under investigation. ABC 13
- ➤ Firefighters responded to a fast-moving brush fire at Ivy Hill Golf Course on Sunday and quickly extinguished it—officials said a fire on Friday sparked the incident and no damage occurred at the course. ABC 13

- ➤ The Roanoke Valley Preservation Foundation will present seven awards on Nov. 19th at the Colony House Motor Lodge — the event will honor efforts by individuals, community groups, and institutions to restore historic sites and share local heritage.
