  • The Junior League of the Roanoke Valley is hosting the 37th annual Stocked Market at the Berglund Center this weekend — the event will draw over 10,000 shoppers and more than 100 vendors while raising funds for local non-profit initiatives through its grant process.  WFXR-TV
  • On Saturday, the first Roanoke Velo Swap brought cyclists together to trade bikes, parts, and gear—proceeds that supported Star Cycling’s Youth Development program offering cycling classes for kids ages 7 to 18.  WSLS 10

  • Eyewitnesses reported that a fire erupted at Red Robin in Valley View Mall as several fire trucks responded—officials advised people to avoid the area while Olive Garden employees said their restaurant next door also caught fire.  WFXR-TV

  • Carroll Bell, longtime owner of The Coffee Pot Roadhouse, said he will step down soon after 47 years of management; interested buyers have already contacted his realtor. He hopes the new owner will continue the restaurant's long tradition of welcoming all guests.  WFXR-TV

  • Dolly Parton will show her new version of Christmas Carol at the Berglund Performing Arts Theatre in Roanoke on November 25—this musical mixes holiday spirit with new songs and a twist that changes Scrooge into a mining boss, and tickets are on sale now.  WSLS 10
  • A new museum honoring local WWII veterans opened Saturday in Blacksburg with free admission and displays of artifacts collected by founder Joseph Collins — a local veteran who spent years gathering personal items — to preserve the stories of the Greatest Generation. The museum is open Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  WDBJ7
