Mill Mountain Zoo hosted its annual Zoo Boo on Saturday with families enjoying costumes, crafts, and candy along a treat trail—Zoo Boo continues today from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the zoo.

Twenty years after her tragic death, the Roanoke community honored Sabrina Reed with a remembrance event that raised funds for Sabrina’s Place—its only secure, supervised visitation center for families affected by domestic violence.

Family and friends joined to celebrate her life and support ongoing local advocacy.

3 Balloons, a new nonprofit bookstore, will open in Roanoke on November 1 at 10 a.m.—it will create jobs for people with disabilities and offer children’s books and handmade crafts from recycled materials.
