- ➤ Hundreds joined a No Kings protest Saturday on Franklin Street in downtown Rocky Mount, with similar rallies held in Roanoke, Christiansburg and Floyd — Governor Youngkin had approved National Guard support for crowd safety. Lawmakers failed to pass a funding bill amid a government shutdown that has lasted over two weeks, and the earliest vote to end the shutdown is set for Tuesday. WDBJ7
