CRIME NEWS

  • On Friday night in Vinton, community members gathered to show support for Max, a mixed-breed dog found in terrible condition that led rescuers to euthanize him—60-year-old Antonia Montuori now faces animal cruelty charges.  WSLS 10

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Hundreds joined a No Kings protest Saturday on Franklin Street in downtown Rocky Mount, with similar rallies held in Roanoke, Christiansburg and Floyd — Governor Youngkin had approved National Guard support for crowd safety. Lawmakers failed to pass a funding bill amid a government shutdown that has lasted over two weeks, and the earliest vote to end the shutdown is set for Tuesday.  WDBJ7
