  • Officer Jose Martinez started the Hispanic Liaison Team to help Spanish speakers learn they can ask for a Spanish-speaking officer when calling the police.   • Twelve families who lost loved ones to fentanyl gathered on Saturday in Roanoke for the unveiling of two billboards on Orange Avenue that show 19 faces linked to the crisis—an effort by Ohio-based nonprofit Rachel’s Angels and Virginia Moms to educate the public and reduce the stigma of addiction.
