- ➤ At Layman Family Farms, pumpkins are thriving this fall despite a hard growing season marked by unusual heat and cool summer weather — the farm used an irrigation system to keep crops healthy and families continue to visit until the season ends the first weekend of November. ABC 13

- ➤ Downtown Roanoke was filled with Hispanic heritage on Saturday when John Nolen Plaza outside the Wells Fargo building hosted the sixth Local Colors celebration—featuring dance performances, music, lessons and over 20 vendors including six restaurants. - ➤ Early voting numbers climbed in Roanoke Valley with nearly 2,800 voters in Roanoke City, about 3,700 in Roanoke County, and over 1,500 in Salem; residents can still cast ballots until November 1 and may change mail-in votes on Election Day, November 4. WFXR-TV
