- ➤ Roanoke Police arrested Lindsey Renee Burnette on September 3 after her two-month-old son was found dead on February 14 on the 600 block of Hanover Ave NW — the Medical Examiner determined his death was caused by suffocation and acute methamphetamine toxicity, and the investigation revealed that Burnette rolled onto her sleeping baby. - ➤ A Roanoke County jury convicted Shane Stager of involuntary manslaughter after he claimed he acted in self-defense when a man stabbed his ex-girlfriend—his account failed to convince the jurors. The Roanoke Times
- ➤ Gilberto Hernandez Rodriguez, a Roanoke man wanted for murder, was arrested in Illinois and is charged with shooting a man outside a Williamson Road bar. The Roanoke Times
