- ➤ The 2025 Annual Roanoke Labor Day Parade returned to downtown Roanoke yesterday—starting on Campbell Ave. at 12:00 p.m. ABC 13
- ➤ House of Bread will host an interactive event on Sept. 3 from 5–7 p.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Roanoke—an experience that lets participants understand the challenges women face with childcare, housing and recovery. Speakers including Beth Macy and Sheriff Antonio Hash will discuss House of Bread’s work in support of women. WSLS 10
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Fire crews responded to a house fire in the 2200 block of Russell Avenue SW Saturday morning — the blaze was extinguished with no injuries, one dog was rescued and a displaced family received aid from the American Red Cross. WSLS 10
- ➤ A house fire displaced four people and one dog from their home in Roanoke on August 30th—firefighters fought the blaze and investigators began checking its cause. WDBJ7
- ➤ Roanoke Police responded at 2:56 p.m. on August 30 to a three-vehicle crash on Williamson Road NE in which a driver died and six others were injured — police closed Williamson Road between Liberty Road and Clover Ave and advised drivers to use Plantation Road as an alternate route. WDBJ7
