- ➤ A Roanoke native now living in Texas helped with flood recovery efforts in Southern Texas after severe floods damaged homes and forced search and rescue work, using his background in construction and equipment operation to clear debris while volunteers teamed up with first responders. Trip Ison III said he felt he had no choice but to join the cleanup effort—he continues to support family searches as recovery work goes on. WDBJ7
- ➤ The Taylor family visited the Roanoke County Fire & Rescue Department to thank the team that delivered baby Noa Emily at her home back in February—ensuring both her and her mom received prompt care. Noa, now nearly five months old, and her brother Barnes also enjoyed a tour of the station as the team welcomed the heartfelt visit. WSLS 10

- ➤ A Virginia Tech student, Cristian Romo-Bermejo, a Mexican national, is held at a detention center in Farmville while his wife and attorney work to build his legal defense as ICE confirmed he is in custody without bond and an alleged assault on a law enforcement officer — if convicted may delay his green card process. - ➤ On Monday, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service removed the Roanoke logperch from the Endangered Species List after conservation work doubled its range from 14 to 31 streams in Virginia and North Carolina—showing that habitat restoration has helped the fish recover. WVTF
