- ➤ Angels of Assisi announced that a mobile pet health clinic and a pet adoption event will be held soon in Bedford to serve local pet owners. The clinic will operate Friday, July 25 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Falling Creek Park picnic tables—National Adoption Week events will be hosted at Valley View PetSmart on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. WSLS 10

- ➤ The Virginia School Boards Association has announced winners of its first Showcasing Innovation Award during summer board meetings—Clarke County Public Schools' JumpStart Program won for divisions with student populations below 10,000 and Hampton City Public Schools' Instructional Toolkit led for divisions above 10,001.
