CRIME NEWS

  • Roanoke County police found a body in a home on July 17—officials are continuing their investigation into the case.  WDBJ7
  • At approximately 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Roanoke County police responded to a disturbance call at a home in the 4400 block of Yellow Mountain Road where they found a dead person—investigation is underway and one person is detained with no threat to the public.  ABC 13
  • Today, Roanoke County police responded to a call and found an unidentified body inside a home—further investigation is underway.  WDBJ7
  • Police are investigating after a person was found dead inside a home on the 4400 block of Yellow Mountain Road in Roanoke County at 8:30 a.m. Thursday — a subject has been detained and officials say there is no public threat.  WSLS 10
  • Six years ago—July 17—in 2019, Kyyona Casey was found shot to death in her car on Orange Avenue in Roanoke, and her father remains determined to find her killer while urging anyone with information to contact Roanoke Police.  WDBJ7

  • TAP has released tickets for its 60th anniversary celebration, A Night at the Museum: A Journey Through 60 Years of Action, which will take place on Monday, October 6, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Virginia Museum of Transportation downtown.   • Goodwill Industries of the Valleys has launched its first adult high school program at Melrose Plaza for residents 21 and older to earn a Virginia high school diploma while gaining career skills. The Excel Center will open on Aug. 25 and will offer free classroom instruction—transportation assistance, ESL services and industry certificates in fields like technology, manufacturing, hospitality and healthcare.  WSLS 10
