- ➤ A 44-year-old man wanted for a fugitive warrant from West Virginia was arrested in Bedford County after a car chase that ended in a crash over the weekend — he now faces charges for felony eluding law enforcement. ABC 13

- ➤ Roanoke's average gas price fell by nine cents on July 7 — a drop that may ease fuel costs for local drivers. WDBJ7

- ➤ On July 6, about 50 supporters gathered at the historic King George Inn in Old Southwest for Maynard Keller's campaign kickoff—Keller, a local businessman running as an Independent against incumbent Salam Rasoul, outlined plans to improve affordability, safety, and job growth.
