- ➤ A man was taken into custody after a bomb threat was made on an Allegiant Airlines flight leaving Clearwater on July 6—police said a verbal dispute led to the claim and the plane returned with all passengers deplaning safely. WFIR News

- ➤ Carilion Clinic staff and officials are launching a public fundraiser in Roanoke to raise $4 million for a new cancer center — part of a six-year campaign to meet a $100 million goal. The Roanoke Times
- ➤ Nourished Roanoke held its 'Drip for a Cause' charity event on Sunday in Cave Spring to support 4-year-old Daisy Gilmer, who was diagnosed with DIPG in May and given a prognosis of 2 to 4 months—discounted IV infusions and vitamin shots raised funds for her family.
