  • The fifth annual Henry County Fair will be held from September 24 to 27 at Martinsville Speedway and will feature tribute bands such as Creedence Clearwater Recital and Love Story — the unofficial Taylor Swift Tribute Band, plus a petting zoo and animal exhibits. On September 27, the fair will include the ValleyStar Credit Union Race and end with fireworks, with gate admission at $5.  WSLS 10
  • Car enthusiasts gathered downtown on Saturday afternoon for the Star City Motor Madness Car Show—the 24th year event featuring over 300 cars that raised funds for the Virginia Museum of Transportation and Center-in-the-Square.  WSLS 10

  • Two men were arrested Tuesday, June 24 after Franklin County deputies and SERT executed a search warrant at a Boones Mill home on Paradise Acres Drive—agents seized drugs, multiple firearms, stolen property, and over $6,000— with 36-year-old Antonio Luis Marchese held without bond for firearm possession and Michael Anthony Carswell released on a secured bond for controlled substance charges.  WDBJ7
  • A man was found dead after a shooting in Roanoke on June 28th, and police are investigating the incident.  WDBJ7
  • Roanoke Police say a man was hospitalized after a shooting on the 4400 block of Huff Lane NW at 7:28 p.m. Saturday, June 28—investigators are seeking information on a person of interest.  WDBJ7
  • Roanoke Police said a man was found dead after a shooting at a home on the 900 block of 7th Street NW on Saturday, June 28 + they responded at 4:55 p.m. and are investigating the case + no further details on the deceased or any person of interest have been released.  WDBJ7
  • Roanoke Police investigated a Saturday evening shooting on the 4400 block of Huff Lane Northwest that injured a man taken to a local hospital — officials are asking anyone with information to come forward.  WFXR-TV
