CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The original Lucy Addison High School, built in 1928 as a segregated school for Black Roanokers, was listed on the Virginia Landmarks Register after Board approval on June 12th—its namesake will be honored by a highway marker to be installed in front of the building with a dedication ceremony planned for the fall. - ➤ Average gasoline prices in Roanoke increased by 5.8 cents per gallon to $3.01 over the past week—GasBuddy surveyed 155 stations for the report. Prices rose by 6.5 cents from last month but remain 21 cents lower than last year. WSLS 10
