- ➤ A 33-year-old man, Charles Mayo, was arrested in Buena Vista on Friday after a series of thefts in Rockbridge County and the surrounding region—he was charged with contempt of court and grand larceny as the investigation continues. WSLS 10
- ➤ On Friday night through Saturday morning, deputies in Botetourt County pursued a speeding vehicle that crashed at a construction site, leading to the arrest of a 16-year-old near Gospel Light Baptist Church—officials are still searching for a second suspect linked to a stolen vehicle from Knollwood. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ One year after the Mountain Valley Pipeline was completed on June 14, a review of its route in Roanoke County shows that restoration work remains unfinished with bare spots on Poor Mountain. Officials say the seed mix may take multiple growing seasons to fully cover the areas—while environmental groups continue to worry about long-term effects on streams and local habitats, the pipeline now supplies natural gas to meet rising demand.
