ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A driver sustained minor injuries after crashing into the wall of a building on Campbell Ave SE in Roanoke on Sunday at 1:57 p.m.—police said the damage to the building has not been determined.  WSLS 10

CRIME NEWS

  • A man died after he was shot at the 2900 block of Glengary Avenue Northwest in Roanoke around 11 p.m. May 24—police have not made an arrest as the investigation continues.  WSLS 10

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Roanoke native LaRue V. Dickerson will be sworn in as Postmaster during the official installation ceremony on May 30 at 11 a.m. at the Cave Spring Post Office. He will take the oath administered by Gerald Roane and meet customers afterwards—he was named Postmaster earlier this year and served as Acting Postmaster since March 2024.  The Roanoke Star
