  • Families in the Roanoke Valley attended the first annual Pictures of Hope photoshoot hosted by HopeTree Family Services in Salem on Saturday. The event ran from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and featured a professional photographer, bounce houses, food, + an appearance by Trooper the therapy dog.  WSLS 10

  • Pluck'd, a company that grows tomatoes in a large greenhouse in Southwest Virginia, is putting its first produce in local stores this spring. The firm completed phase one of its project in Carroll County and plans a $100 million expansion.  WVTF

  • Roanoke City Public Schools is planning its first major rezoning in over 50 years to ease overcrowding at elementary schools+ the new boundaries will affect student placements next school year.  The Roanoke Times

  • Franklin County is considering a zoning rewrite that may ban private wells for data centers & impose sound and cooling limits as residents worry about long-term environmental and resource impacts; a joint work session is set for Wednesday, May 13 at 5 p.m. for further discussion.  WSLS 10
