- ➤ A local pastor received a kidney transplant at UVA Hospital after a local nurse felt called to donate her kidney—her donation ended his dialysis treatment and took place on June 13, 2024. - ➤ Construction has begun on the six-story, $100M Carilion Taubman Cancer Center, a project that will expand cancer treatment and bring new research and specialist care to Southwest Virginia.
