- ➤ Governor Youngkin announced that Virginia recorded a 44 percent drop in fentanyl overdose deaths and a 46 percent reduction from its 2021 peak. - ➤ This spring, the City of Roanoke’s Gun Violence Prevention Commission will launch the Planting Peace program by planting ten oak trees on May 3—five at Horton Park and five at Perry Park to honor victims of unsolved homicides. - ➤ DMV will offer free full-day Circuit RiderCourse motorcycle safety training in Roanoke on June 7 or 8 to help local riders improve their skills during Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month.
