- ➤ A Drug Take Back Event will be held tomorrow in Roanoke Valley—LGH Cave Spring ER at 2706 Odgen Road, LGH Bonsack ER at 1423 W. Ruritan Road, Kroger Cave Spring at 3971 Brambleton Ave, and CVS Hollins at 7515 Williamson Road—and will run from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Roanoke County
- ➤ Roanoke Police have planned a memorial service for fallen K-9 Knox at the Berglund Center today at 2 p.m.—the 3-year-old German shepherd died last week during a police chase while serving as a narcotics detection and patrol unit. WSLS 10

- ➤ Radford City Police said two people have been arrested in connection with a shooting on April 17th — 23 year old Dominick Anderson from Roanoke faces charges including conspiracy to commit robbery and aggravated malicious wounding while 21 year old Trevion Johnson is out of state awaiting extradition. - ➤ Two additional Roanoke residents 23-year-old Dominick Anderson and 21-year-old Trevion Johnson were arrested in connection to the April 17th shooting on E. Main St. near Radford University, with Anderson held without bond and Johnson out of state awaiting extradition while two other individuals have also been charged. WDBJ7

- ➤ A groundbreaking was held Thursday in Christiansburg for the New River Valley Rail Project — part of Virginia’s plan to extend Amtrak service from Roanoke and return rail service to an area without trains since 1979. Preliminary work began in February and full construction will start this spring with service expected in 2027 at an estimated cost of $264.5 million. WDBJ7
