  • Carilion Clinic today launched Usability Works at Carilion Clinic, a consultancy providing clinical testing (including simulated settings) to help medical device developers.   • Country singer Darius Rucker, formerly of Hootie and the Blowfish — known for multiple hit albums — will headline a solo show at Elmwood Park on June 20. Tickets go on sale next Friday, April 10 at 10:00 a.m. EST, with gates opening at 6:00 p.m. and the show starting at 7:00 p.m.  WDBJ7

  • Roanoke County School Board approved a revised budget that cuts $3 million in revenue sharing funds while increasing staff salaries. The board balanced reduced funds with better pay for educators.  The Roanoke Times

  • April is distracted driving awareness month as a Nationwide survey finds nearly 9 in 10 drivers say phone use while driving has increased.
