  • Volunteers organized by Friends of Old Lick Cemetery are restoring Old Lick Cemetery — the city's oldest African American burial ground near Orange Avenue — by cleaning tombstones and working to identify remains for local remembrance.   • Jamal Millner, President and Lead Software Engineer at Millner Multi-Media, shared his journey from an early childhood on a Marine base to founding his 29-year business in Roanoke — he credited mentors and family for inspiring his work in digital cinematography and robotics.  The Roanoke Tribune
  • Chip Bobbert was named Director of Innovation by the Roanoke Blacksburg Innovation Alliance on February 2.   • The Girl Scout Virginia Skyline Council, serving girls from 36 counties, turned 40 when coordinators met at Camp Icimani in Roanoke County from Feb. 27 — Mar. 1. They planned outdoor adventure activities for the next Girl Scout year and welcomed 14 new coordinators.  The Roanoke Tribune
