- ➤ A fire at townhomes on Woods Crossing Dr. in Cave Spring early this morning displaced four residents and left a cat missing (damage to two units is estimated at $200,000), though no injuries were reported by firefighters. WDBJ7

GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Roanoke County is hosting two open house meetings to answer questions about FEMA’s preliminary flood maps that may change flood insurance requirements. - ➤ Since last fall, Roanoke began a safety test on Williamson Road from Pocahontas Avenue to Angell Avenue by adding a center turn lane and reducing lanes to slow traffic and curb crashes. Public feedback is welcomed until March 1 (paving set for summer) as city evaluates changes. WSLS 10
