Good morning, Roanoke. Here's your local news at a glance for Monday, the 16th of February.

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Roanoke lost 2,104 residents in the four years after the last census, reversing decades of growth. Experts attribute the decline chiefly to domestic out-migration and rising home prices — a trend that could lead the city toward levels not seen since the 1960s.  Cardinal News
  • Senator Louise Lucas has proposed a bill allowing state regulators to shift some Dominion Energy costs from residential customers to high-usage data centers. If passed, the State Corporation Commission will adjust rates to lower typical bills by 3%.  WVTF
