  • Bedford County deputies, teamed with the Department of Social Services & The Shepherd's Table, delivered 100 warm meals last Thursday to residents still housebound after a winter storm left roads dangerous. The effort provided food and well-being checks to ensure no neighbor was overlooked.  ABC 13

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Roanoke firefighters responded to a house fire on the 2700 block Courtland Road Thursday morning where a mayday call led to four firefighter injuries (one critically) and the safe rescue of four residents.  WDBJ7

  • Harrison Museum of African American Culture is hosting a ribbon-cutting and open house in its new location at Melrose Plaza, 2502 Melrose Ave, on Sunday, Feb. 1 from 2-5 p.m. Roanoke Mayor Joe Cobb, board president Eric Beasley, and executive director E.B.
