CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Franklin County residents & the local NAACP unveiled a monument honoring 70 Black Union soldiers at Rocky Mount last Sunday. The new memorial, backed by a $285,000 Mellon grant and Virginia Tech support, joins fewer than 25 national memorials honoring the U.S. Colored Troops. WVTF
