The HEAL Program starting November 9 at 9:00am (Mondays and Thursdays from 9-11am excluding Thanksgiving)
Ever leave the doctor's office confused about what you were told? Wonder when to go to urgent care instead of the ER? Or wish you knew what questions to ask?
HEAL is a FREE 8-session class that helps you understand your healthcare, communicate confidently with medical professionals, and make informed decisions about your health. No medical knowledge needed—just a desire to learn! Workbooks will be provided and topics covered include:
Describe symptoms to a doctor Read and understand medication instructions Understand disease prevention Know when to use Urgent Care instead of the Emergency Room Understand medical forms Ask medical staff questions to better understand diagnosis, prescriptions, and next steps Identify lifestyle changes to improve health and practice prevention Understand Advance Medical Directives Know when to get help for mental health issues
